This plugin allows you to play video torrents instantly from your XBMC with out the need for downloading. That’s right you can stream torrents directly from XBMC without the need of downloading or seeding. Here’s what the developer Batch had to say about the Add-on.

“I have created a proof-of-concept add-on which shows some potential of Furk.net. It contains a lot of code which isn’t in use right now but I wanted to get something out. Remember that this was tested for about 15 minutes and does not contain every feature I would like it to contain.I do however seriously doubt you will get disappointed…”

And of course here’s a quick video demo of the add-on in action

So as batch mentioned this is a dev build to show off some of the features he’s brining to this once washed up add-on.I have a tiny inkling that Batch might be working on a complimenting Flurk library add-on which would allow users to add movies/tv to their XBMC library. So as usual stay tuned and we’ll keep you all up to date with the progress of this Stella add-on

All you need is a free account from from flurk.net to get started. We covered flurk several months ago check out our original post here.

You can grab the add-on from here and follow the add-ons install guide here

The guys over at XBMCHub are on fire ATM so get over there and register and show some support

Update 01/02/2012
Here’s some news regarding this add-on from the developer Batch

What the Furk” is the new addon I’m currently working on. Furk.net is a filelocker and torrent-proxy with a huge library of cached torrented-files. This addon uses neither the filelocker nor torrent-proxy functionality, it uses the library of cached files. The idea of “What the Furk” is to grab movie and TV show data from IMDB and create search queries which searches the cache at Furk.net and returns a list of streamable files.

Is this legal?
It’s as legal as streaming movies and TV shows from any other streaming site.

Is streaming movies and TV shows legal in my country?
It depends on a lot of things. In some countries it’s legal to download/stream copyright protected material but not to upload or spread, in other countries it works differently. Movies which are intended to be spread by the copyright owners are of course legal to stream.

Do they track my downloads?
Furk track the amount of downloaded bytes and connects this to your account and IP-address. No histories of the specific downloads are being kept at Furk.net.

Where are the servers located?
In Ukraine and in the Netherlands.

Are there any free Furk accounts?
Yes, but these are limited to download 500MB/day. If you start streaming a bigger file then it won’t cut it after that limit is reached but you won’t be able to watch any more after the limit is reached. This means you can watch up to one movie/day with a free account.

What do I get with a premium account?
300GB downloads per month. 10GB/day should be enough for most of us.

What download speeds will I get?
Most likely good enough to stream 1080p, if your bandwidth allows it.

This is an addon under construction. I will probably release the first version within a week. Until then you can always try the proof-of-concept addon I threw together:
All right stop, Collaborate and listen, Ice Films is back with my brand new invention.
Something grabs a hold of me tightly, Then I flow that a harpoon daily and nightly.
Will it ever stop? Yo, I don’t know, Turn off the lights and I’ll glow.
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.
Ice films baby Vanilla, Ice films baby.

So did you all think the Icefilms XBMC add-on was out for the count after the recent FBI worldwide crackdown on privacy? Yes I said privacy not piracy. Well the devs over at XBMCHub haven’t given up and neither has icefilms.info which is currently dusting off the events of the last couple of weeks and getting down to business as usual. So we are left again asking what does the future indeed hold for the XBMC icefilms add-on? Well developers aren’t giving up on this project yet! So stick with us here at HD420P and well gently nurture you through these SOPA infected times.

The answer is a new beta supporting rapidshare and 2shared links (oh I hope rapidshare is better/faster than I remember it being) Never the less the new beta has been pushed the the Icefilms development repo so you can try it out yourselves. Past additions remain such as download and play adding a buffering interlude before the media starts.

As usual here’s a quick video of the add-on in action.

As you can see the add-on isn’t perfect but its a development build and updates will be pushed through quickly, so keep you eye out for updates or just set XBMC to update add-ons automaticly. There seems to be a bug with the tvshownextaired script but no doubt this well be fixed in a later build. Let us know what you think of this new twist in the icefilms saga in the comments below.

You can grab the beta repository for the add-on from XBMCHub click the link below to head over to the Icefilms developer’s forum and don’t forget to register !!!

Updated 05/02/2012
If you are experiencing any issues with the beta try the official build here

The Add-on uses the urlresolver code from T0mm0 and lets you select your source when playing media and grabs media thumbs. The add-on contains streams for both TV and movies and lets you pick from sources such as putlocker, moveshare, sockshare to name a few. This allows a much more versatile experience. In the light of Icefilms being banished off the earth for now at least (watch this space) this add-on cannot come at a better time, with all those XBMC users looking for their “streaming” fix

Currently it’s just an update of t0mm0′s work to be compatible with some other addons and libraries available for XBMC. Thanks and sorry.” Shortly before his repo 404′d on googlecode. We’ve asked on the forum and PM’d Blutendes to find out what the score is but haven’t had a reply, yet. Unless some kind soul picks this up, the next time fastpasstv change a line of code on their page the addon will go into freefall.

So with no repo there are a few versions knocking about. The one that is working for us is Fastpasstv T3 v.1.6.1 and you can grab it here. It’s just the backed up folder from our addons folder so you’ll have to unrar it and install via ftp. Theres also a v.3.1.1 which we’ve not tested and you can find that on the thread on the hub and I’m still not sure if that is the old version from nixa’s repo. If anyone actually knows what’s going on with these numbers then don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Theres quite a lot of stuff missing. The megaupload links are still being scraped and as usual some of the sources leave more than a little to be desired. But Hey, if you can sit through a CAM on a 1080p panel plugged into a proper sound system then this ones for you! Personally I’d rather not.

Tested on win 7 eden betal 1 and openelec eden beta 1 nightly 20/01/12

Possibly the largest photo management site on the planet. One can only wonder at the size of the data centres behind this huge photo album. One of my few treasured formal qualifications in a city and guilds in photgraphy. My whole family take the piss because I have no certificate to prove it. I’m adamant that I did pass. The last time we took a traditional film camera on holiday was on a trip to New York back in 2001. I remember buying two speeds of film and a roll of black and white. I never dream’t for a second that just 10 years later I’d be walking around with an 18 mega pixel canon EOS 550D slung over my shoulder. That phones would have cameras that take better photo’s than the crappy compact I took to the states.

Now everyone with a hooky copy of Photoshop or Lightroom is a semi pro.

XBMC’s Flickr addon is a little hidden gem. Also with it’s home in the official repo you can be pretty sure it’s gonna be stable. At the time of writing the Flickr addon hasn’t made the jump to eden. You’ll have to download manually for now. Good news is, it works just fine on Eden. So, install in the usual way.

Before running FlickrXBMC you’ll need to quickly configure your Flickr username and then authorize the app. So enter your details, select ok, then launch the addon

on the first launch you’ll be prompted to visit http://xbmc.2ndmind.com/auth to get an authorisation code

I’ve installed this on two machines (win 7 eden beta 1 & openelec eden beta 1 nightly) and both times I needed to refresh the auth code as the first attempt didn’t take. Once it’s in you can restart and start exploring

So much so they took down megaupload or as we call it 4% of the internet. SOPA or no SOPA this is clearly a case of fuck you by the DoJ. It shows that they do not need any new laws in place to come after ANYONE who they deem to be against their interests. If the MPAA want their royalties then they can get people arrested as far a field as New Zealand. This means they could come after me or you at any moment. They wont be after you for terrorism or anything big like that. No, they will come after their alleged lost sales revenue believed owed on a model that was out of date 10 years ago. You won’t need to rape or murder, just post a link to content. No matter how mashed up or short.

Within minutes of the DoJ announcing their triumph over the megaupload raid anonops retaliated by launching their LOIC’s/botnet against some of the biggest players in the pro censorship camp

However, this morning it seems that it’s business as usual for “the man” with all the sites I tried being back online. While megaupload is still silent. Shit, even we had some files for this blog hosted there.

It seems to this bystander that the “creative” industries. Hang on, rewind. “Creative” industries? If they are so creative why are they trying to hang on to this business model that died at the end of the nineties? Died I might add due not least to their own lack of understanding of technology. Remember this an industry that has delivered it’s content (film) in the same format (35mm) pretty much since its inception a hundred years ago. Where was I? Oh right. The creative industries seem to be looking at their profits. Deciding how much they would have liked to have made and then blaming the difference on piracy. With little or no effort to look any deeper than the balance sheet they have bribed their way to the very law makers that are supposedly here to protect not only us but our freedom.

The ONLY way to show these greedy cooperate scum what you think of them is with your wallet. Money talks and democracy walks. It’s all about the dollar so don’t give them your’s. Luckily theres a whole generation of kids that have never bought into this sham. Their entertainment is free. Never seen a record shop or rented a DVD. Those habits can be hard to break.

Unless Team America get to them first of course

It might be worth noting that the icefilms addons for xbmc may not be working anytime soon! Which is why you’re here isn’t it?

The latest addition in the lineup of UK FTA catchup addons for XBMC. Channel Five (or simply Five as they became from 2002) being the last of the analogue channels to launch before we went digital and the bandwidth got opened up to soft porn and teleshopping. Overwhelmingly panned on it’s début, it’s gained a footing in recent years and is host to some pretty good US shows, the odd home grown gem like extreme fishing with Robson Green and of course <del>shit</del> big brother.

Demand Five has been created by Nibor and you can join the discussion in the thread here. He’s added it, along with the 4od addon to his own repo which you can get from googlecode. You can also install just the addon manually but of course it won’t get automatically updated. Once downloaded, install in the usual way.

Not much going on in the settings dept. You can select the default behaviour when a stream is selected and there is also an option for download settings including the path to your rtmpdump.exe for the downloads.

It’s good to see that the Demand Five addon is well laid out. With a decent category view and search option. It’s a shame there are no category items which rather limits the initial view to a list. This is fairly standard though.Advancing into the lists of shows allows for the better thumbnail view. Sadly, as with the other UK TV addons the scraped thumbs leave a little to be desired. No fault of the addon devs its just the way it is on the sites that are being scraped. They look fine at 720p though.

Stream wise, well they are ok. No (obvious) HD though which is a shame. Still, all in all Demand Five is a pretty handy little addon. If you live in the UK you really are spoilt for choice using XBMC. With catch up services from all the main players as well as streaming freeview with TVCatchup it’s a great time to invest in a dedicated media centre.

Tested on Win 7 x64 Eden Beta 1 and Openelec Eden Beta 1 Nightly
